New Years Project
What perfect timing, rolled my dub out from under my grand mothers house today, which is the 2nd time it has been out since 1970, and the last time
was for about an hour last year.
In the true male tradition, have started this project before the other (c/buggy) is finished, but it is sooo close that I am counting it as done.
Anyway this is a 64 model, which was raced by my uncle in the Aust Hillclimb championship back in 64/65 as well as the odd rally. It was only on the
road for 5 years, before they blew the motor and parked it. The best part is that everything is original, wiring, tyres and the seats still have the
plastic seat covers from new, but unfortunately someone lost the front passenger seat !!!
It has flashes up the side, and one is dented, can you get these replaced, am confident that I can get it 95% straight.
It is far from perfect, but as a project goes, it shouldnt be too hard. It even has the little doggie tag on the dipstick advising " Should this
Volkswagen require oil..."
I am giving myself 6 months to have it finished. Time starts.......... NOW

Well its a beauty...... the older beetles have so much more personality..... i looked at one on Boxing Day and it was a 70's model..... but it
was very very sad. Lots of work to be done on it.
This one of yours looks great and good luck with it......
Hay when we going on a cb run????

Beetle
Yep the beetle should turn out okay, not too sure which way to jump with it, whether to give it a new coat of paint and motor or go the historic
racing/rallying scene. I dont really need another car as a roadee... will cross that bridge later.
As for the CB run, yep would love to catch up, I live on the southside (Oxley/Durack)and I think you are down the bay area, so somewhere halfway would
be nice. It hasnt been totally tested in the sense of long drives such as to the coast, so would probably avoid those trips until a few more chores
are attended to, but it has been fine so far.
