Anyone know who the Aussie owner was. By the original looks of the car , the list would be pretty short.

Hey it has bolts in the pillars for the seat belts just like Bel :(

Must have been common practice

I have seen those indicators before on an old truck! Would guess they are some sort of aftermarket additon. Bolts in the b pillars was a common practice for mounting seat belts in Aus, have seen those in old holdens as well.

Yeah, pretty sure they are just lights off an old truck, like the ones you see on the roofs - outline light(?)
Look like they have been left in the sun.

As for the speedo - i guess ALL European bugs km speedo's

I had a new 1300 beetle in 74 which had a speedo in MPH with a KMH sticker on the glass. So I guess 74 was about when they changed over.
