G'Day Jettn,
Plugs?
My Beetle runs the Bosch.
I like NGK in my Bikes.............:(

Oil............
I've added an aftermarket Oil Pump/Filter.
I change the oil and filter
every 5,000Klicks.
Fresh oil often is cheap insurence.
Brand is personal preference AND
availability.
Me?????? I go for Penrite,
but will use whats available, except the eL-Cheapos!

I always used Bosch plugs in the VW's and NGK in the bikes and EH until I got a set that were made in India (maybe that's where they are made now), and within 4 weeks one of them dudded out.

Now I only use NGK.

I buy my oil in 20 litre drum and service all the bikes and cars with it as it amazingly is correct for all 5 vehicles. :D

Age

Take into consideration the age of your engine for the oil you use.

And don't use for gods sake champion plugs, their gauranteed to seize into your heads

NGK iridium NGK iridium NGK iridium NGK iridium, these plugs rock, my engine used to foul plugs all the time(changed plugs every service), put a set of these in and hase been running fine for 10000km and the plugs still look new. They are a bit exxy though $20 each.

Use penrite deisel (spelling?) oil. for my moded motor, the stock 1600 and the pajero. Buy 120L a year from supercheap when they have 20% off sale!!!

Welcome to the world of Vee Dubs...

Yes I use GTX2 castrol engine oil and will be changed at every 5000kms.
I have Beru spark plugs in My engine at the Moment.
I always used Bosch before, but I have heard that Bosch plugs are no longer "as good as they were"...
NGK are the best plugs, I may go for them next time..
and as someone else said - Don't use champion spark plugs-
Firstly I wouldn't trust them. I have heard of failures, plus their spark plug thread shape is slightly different to the normal metric thread and they tend to bind in the alloy..

One Other TIP... I always use Anti Seize on Spark plug threads to stop them from seizing or being hard to unscrew.
as the Alloy expands differently to the steel spark plugs...

Welcome to Vee Dub World...

Lee

30 or 40 weight oil? Or 50? I'm using 40 at the moment and change it when I feel like it (i.e. last time was after 2500ks cause I had a day off). Car runs cooler and better.
