Nice! Looks like its function, not just form too. Even the wings and air dams have their purpose when you look closely at it. And, as I'm sure
the v-force boys will verify, downforce is definately something we should all consider nowadays.

As long as it has a huge capacity motor to back up the looks, I think that it could definantly go with 18's or even 19's without looking
like wagen from Little house on the prarie.

Congratulations to Ben Durie for breaking the hillclimb record at Ringwood in his stroker beetle!

Here is a pic of my Kestrel KC-3/1
One of 12 chassis made around the late 80's and early 90's by a South Australian dude named Geoff Mobbs.
Only 4 of them exist now.
A very unusual looking F-Vee with its unique forward sitting position.
despite this my 88Kg, 183cm fram fits in with room to move.
This particular chassis has a long and successful career powering to many club abd state wins.
Absolutely delightful to drive with the best, pinsharp turn-in I have driven! Koni adjustables on all corners with a single leaf rear spring.
I have 4 different swaybars for the front that are inserted into the upper tube in the beam in place of the original spring pack.
The lower spring pack has only 4 full leaves and 2 half leaves.
This next one is my first car, a beautiful old historic Elfin tubeframe F-Vee.
This beautiful old jigger has many Tasmanian state titles and club wins to its credit under only a couple of drivers in its life.
Originally based on 36Hp engine/split transmission clobber, it has been updated to much later specifications including 1600 rockers and pushrods,
extensive porting and other minor goodies.
A very quick old thing even by todays standards but a bit difficult to get the best out of the chassis setup. Still very fast on its day.
Originally fitted with a single leaf rear suspension with trailing arms and stock kraut shocks at each end, it has been fitted with adjustable Koni
coilovers on the rear end and adjustable Koni's on the front.
The bodywork is not original Elfin but a rare and unusual Nimbus Mk 11 with that characteristic "duckbill" nose and blister on the bodywork
to accommodate the steering box which is still mounted on the original Kraut mount point on the beam.
The old Elfin is for sale now and will comply with regulations covering the soon to be introduced Historic Formula Vee 1200 category.
I am asking only $4500 for this rare old car with a mountain of engine and suspension spares plus a shitbox trailer good enough to get it home on!
The Kestrel is having a bit of a massage at the moment with the 1200 race engine out and a playtime engine going in. Its a twin port 1600 with a
garrett T2 turbocharger. I will be using this rig for clubdays and hillclimbs.
Disk brakes are being fitted at both ends to complement the straightline speed this thing should produce.
I reckon it will be a real hell-wagon!
There you have it men

Unfortunately no.
There were only 12 chassis made and only 4 survive today.
2 in Vic, one in S.A and mine in Tasmania.
Shame as they are such a sweet handling and pretty looking Vee!

He sure did.
Actually Geoff Mobbs is not a driver but a very clever engineer.
The amount of nifty little things and thought that has gone into the car is hard to describe.
You need to actually see the car and run your nose over all the trick little touches to really appreciate how much thought and effort went into the
chassis.
