Quickest Type 3 down the 1/4mile

Hi There,

I am wanting to know what is the quickest street registered type 3 down the 1/4mile in Australia. Both for speed and time.

Go to have goals. I want to know what I need to aim for.

Cheers,
James C.

Looks nice Andy.
Steering Wheel is on the wrong side, and I doubt it would make it through the pits though.
Any idea what times/speed they got out of it?

Didn't that purple notch compete for the Berg Trophy a few years back?

Must be "street legal"!

Nah, not yet. Still working towards that.
I have a review from the origional Wheels article from 1966. The fastback was a quick 24.5 sec down the 1/4 mile.
14.9 is my quickest to date. Though am working to bring that down.
I had heard of a turbo- kombi powered type III in NSW that was doing mid 13's. Is it still going? Anyone know the times/speeds from it?

Neil Penboss had this one a few years ago: http://www.vwdcqinc.org.au/vwdcqimages/memberscars/originalfiles/wolfsbug.jpg

Now he runs a beetle:

He used to run 11s in the T3. I think the Bug does 10s. not sure though.
