Help wanted for www.aussiekombicampers.com

Hi all,
As Buggy Brad has announced, the new site,
http://www.aussiekombicampers.com
is alive and well.

When you visit the site, you will see an outline of the key areas we think are appropriate for the site, including some examples and initial work.

We need you help!
Specifically:
- CONTRIBUTIONS to the existing areas; just email me with any content that you have for the site
- areas and topics which you think should be included in due course
- general feedback.

You can contact me by email, post it here, send me a U2U, or send up a smoke signal, but we do value your feedback and assistance in getting this new website up to critical mass!

Thanks in Anticipation,
This is not the place to ask for stickers; I'll start a new topic "aussiekombicampers.com sticker list" for this.

Thanks to all for the comments; looking forward to your photos and information...

Rhys, the deckout drawings would be super cool to have (if we can get our hands on them without offending anyone's copyright). Anyone have any info/URLs/hints where I could go to look for these?

*Exactly* like that; I added that particular one earlier today on the links page, but it is precisely this sort of detailed info. that will make the site a useful resource....

Thanks

Rhys,

Old brochures for camper conversions (esp. Aussie ones) would be like gold! Anyone got any they'd like to scan?

Thanks,

Hey the guy you need to talk to is Simon Glen, he is on here somewhere occasionally. Anyway he is like a kombi camper book, has heaps of info and heaps of pictures. If we can track him down he would be a great person to hit up for stories and info. You could even advertise his book on there as it is about exactly what the site is aimed to cover.

I will send you a story in a week or so about our camping trip to Landcrusier Mountain Park in the Kombi towing the buggy !!:o

Ideas

I am currently looking at buying a camper and the sorta info i would be really interested in is

- Differences in models (different features, whats good and bad. A timeline of when features where introduced. Basic history really.

- Normal problems found with certain models.

- What conversions are good for what sorta camping (like ur weekend camper or ur 6 month Oz trip)...how many they carry/sleep.

Thats all i can think of at the mo...but just hink about all the stuff u would of liked to know before you got your first camper.

Hope this is of some help

Thanks James,
that all makes good sense and I'll add it to the target list; there are certainly some differences in amenity betweeen the various conversions.

Thanks wrecker...
Doesn't have to be a camper to enjoy Kombi Camping... look at my truck...its only qualification as a camper conversion is a mattress in the back...

Speaking of conversions, a good example of the Sunliner conversion is now on the site at
http://www.aussiekombicampers.com/conversions.shtml#sunliner

Rhys, at a pinch I can get Dutch sources translated down here as well (though not by car people, so it might not be as good...)
