Heather, your welcome to come along without your Baja. See if you can talk a friend into coming along and driving you there. You should be able to get a convential car close to the camp site.

There are quite a few people that will be there without offroad vw's, just there for the social and spectating side.

I need to know BBQ people by the end of today (5pm).

Can I come? I'll only be able to come but I won't be able to make the saturday morning meet as I have to work till noon. Can I still show up later and if so where will I be able to find you at the park? Camping is $15 or so is that for tents and stuff? are there any restrictions on fires/ gas stoves etc etc.?

Yep you can come, the more the better. We will leave a map at the front office of where we will be camping so you can find the site easy enough. Will be on channel 10 UHF if that helps you.

Come one come all :D

We went, and it was hot. very hot. very very very hot. Did I mention it was hot?

Anyway, apart from the heat it was a fun trip. It would've been much better if it wasn't so hot as then we would've had more energy, but it was still fun!

It's always entertaining watching Brad and Dyno. Dyno has the toughest buggy out of all of us, and so can do some pretty impressive hills. Brad on the otherhand has the least respect for machinery out of all of us, and also can do some pretty impressive hills :D

Here's a few pics.

We had 4 buggies, 1 Baja, 1 kombi, 1 holden ute, and 1.5 4wds. We should've had more but there was some very unique circumstances that prevented some people from being there.

It is an Awsome machine and I was suprised to see some of the places both it and brads could go. All in all to those who missed out you missed a great time.:P:P Oh and of course thanks to Daz(Cook) and the girls for a great meal saturday night :D

Cruiser !!

Well we went, we had fun and I got to give my Buggy some loving :thumb what more could you ask for ??? well temp under 30 would be good :P

For those of you who have been to LCMP before you will be please to know that the Buggies , well Dyno's and Mine made it through Cruiser Canyon ( classed as EXTREME !!! 4WD Track) with Dyno getting some minor rim rash and my Buggy giving the rocks a little kiss :kiss

The kombi that came was the 77 Camper and it was there for a bed and luggage capacity not off road capability. LCMP would KILL a kombi due to the COG of them.

Thanks to all that came and I am sure next time will have to be a little cooler. I knwo An:treedy is keen as mustard to join the buggy loving crew and give his beast the attention it needs. We have a trip to Black Duck 4WD park planning in the next few months so mark it down now if you are keen.
I didn't get many photos as I was to busy having fun. Dazcat got a few with my Camera. We did get about 2hrs of Video which should crop down to 30 mins of full on Buggy Loving ACtion .... I have seen about 90mins of it and I am pretty impressed my Buggy still drives :P

Maybe next time .. :thumb

Anyway here are some photos........

http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/brad/LCMP/3.jpg
The kombi Camper with Buggy in Tow. I must say there is much more room for stuff in a kombi than a Buggy.

The rear end of the DYNO4 as it gets over a foot high log in the middle of a muddy section. Nothing but speed was any good here.

Even with the Dry weather, there was still plenty of sludge in the creek.

mmmmm.mud and momentum.. two of my favourite things.

WTF ??? I respect Machinery ... I respect it was created so I could abuse it and find out what I needed to get a Gusset next time so I could get further up the hill.:P

I must say though my 45hp type 1 did work rather well and I think I would die if I had a 1915. Also I can not rate the 181 front end high enough. A stock BJ frontwould have died on day 1.

The video supports all these claims... man that baby screem and the front end gets some lovin :thumb:thumb:cool:

I was there! It was a great weekend, met some cool people and I learnt a few things.

While I've owned my Stocko Manx (Swing Axle, Link Pin, 1640cc single port) for 4 or so years I've never really driven in it hard terrain, just the beach and around town. I've spent most of my time offroad in high powered mud racers, not buggies.

So this weekend I finally gave the Manx a run somewhere other than the beach. I was fairly impressed with were you can get a fairly stocko buggy like mine to go. Not that I followed Brad and Dyno everywhere, but a stock Manx would go most places a stock 4x4 would go. Allot faster and a lot more fun :)

Of course Brad and Dynos well modified cars will go places a well modified 4x4 will go.

I'd love a tough buggy like Dynos... :D

The heat wasn't toooo bad, for me the worst bit was driving home on Sunday. Dam hot on the freeway. Sat night was allot cooler at LCMP than in Brisbane from what I've heard about Brissie temps Sat night.

My little non-doghouse 1640 SP doesn't have a temp gauge but the oil pressure gauge showed *some* oil pressure all weekend. So it's survived. :)

My only problem all weekend was my tent and it's inability to hold itself up :P

It was a gerat weekend. Thanks to the Club for Organising it, Thanks to the guys who organised dinner Sat night. It was very nice. And thanks Daz for bringing all the water we could ever need.

I'd love to check out the video in it's unedited format so if you guys are having a vid viewing let me know, maybe at the Tech day?

Thanks again,
Mike
