What I did this week
I had a great time hiking with work this week. Tuesday we drove up the Wonangatta River onto the Wongungurra before parking beside the road at
Glenlea, then hiked to Talbotville, which was the hub of the area. Talbotville is now a beautiful camping ground.
We camped at Talbotville for two nights, and did a day hike to Bulltown on Wednesday. The rain was amazing, it started an hour after we left camp and
continued for the next 8 hours or so. We got back to camp to find we'd had around 16-18mm rainfall!! We spent the rest of the night drying out
kids clothing and sleeping gear around the campfire.
Thursday we broke camp and hiked nearly all the way back to the van and pitched camp on the side of the track right near one of the river crossings.
We managed to get the kids to bed early (they didn't need too much encouragement) but we were woken again around 11.15pm when a bunch of drunken
rednecks came through in 3 4x4's and a two-wheel-drive ute, which promptly got stuck in the river crossing, prompting a barage of insults back
and forth amongst the group. They finally managed to rescue the ute and the bike trailer it was towing and continued on to again leave us in peace.
The kids found it most entertaining. :o:P
Friday we hiked the last 700m to the van (the kids thought we had a few kms to go ) and after getting everything in the van, headed to Stratford for some well-deserved hamburgers and chips.:thumb

Colin,
I reckon you and I could easily become great mates. Do you have a neighbour moving out soon. Were looking to move somewhere.
VW's, hiking, kids, camps.
Do you have a spare room. Think how long we could play in the shed with our wives to entertain each other. Send me some realestate prices and line me
up a job at a school nearby.

It's not me you have to convince!
Here's my wifes email address. You have to sell it to her. There needs to be a decent shopping centre nearby, technological advances like mobile
coverage, video shops and evening television and also houses with yards as we can't find one here. Sned her an email assuring her all these thing
exist and she might entertain the thought when I raise it again.
I just want mountianious valleys of bush, cool / cold weather for a fireplace and space for a shed. A job would be good to!
