Kombi front?

Hi, does anyone know if there is anywhere where i could buy a new skin for the front of my kombi? I know that you can buy later baywindow fronts but is it possable to get one to fit a 71 kombi with the low blinkers? I need one as mine is full of bog from a previous repair. I should have no problem fitting it bit any tips that might make it easier would be good.
Thanks everyone,
Alex.:D

Sorry, Alex, don't know where you can get the early front, but for completeness, can you tell us where you're sourcing the late fronts?

e.g 1973 on-----58.50 pounds from bigboystoys

up to 1967 ----- 175 pounds from
Status vw parts

1967 to 1972 -----180 pounds from
Status vw parts

they are cpmplete up to the window frame right from the bottom....

Does anyone know if it would be possable to remove the skin off the front of another bus and put it on to mine? I know it would be alot more work than just gettin a new one but this option would work out alot cheaper. Anyone got any advice? Thanks,
Alex.

Yes it is definitely possible.

A mate of mine cut and replaced the front of his 1972 kombi some years ago. I think his uncle did it for him so it was on the cheap. Turned out really well.
I will try to get some details for you and post it here.

definitely possible, finding a clean front skin without too much cancer could be difficult though.

Thanks deon, some pics would be good. Where is the rust in it? Is there anything else on the bus you would sell? I am after rust free front doors and sliding door.
Thanks,
Alex.

A few months ago some bastard crashed a stolen car into my front yard and smashed the front of my kombi.

The NRMA paid for a full repair: my local VW mechanic has a paddock full of wrecks, he cut the front off a kombi with an angle-grinder and gave it to the panel-beaters who did the replacement work. The front of my kombi is now the best bit of all!

Mine is a '75 model with high indicators, but I'm sure this would work for any model.

Alex, Kruizinwagen in Sydney has old kombis in his back yard and he can remove the clips for you. He will also put it on for you. Ring 02 473 16444 and ask for Kimm.

hey everyone,

long time surfer, first time poster!
Have been looking at getting a kombi for ages now! I am interested in the 69-72/73? (low indicator) model. I am having a lot of trouble finding one. Was wondering what would be the chances/implications or if it were at all possible of converting a 73 - onwards model from high indicator to low indicator (seen as the indicators is the only thing that phases me aesthetically with the older models). (i know its pathetic but i just can help it!). Any help would be fantastic thanks.
