Hi guys, my sister is interested in buying a beetle for her first car the only problem is she would like an automatic. is it possible to get such a thing or do u have to do a major conversion?

I hadnt heard of an auto beetle so i thought i would ask the experts.

Hi

There actually 3 speed semi auto, no 1st. Full autos only came in Type 3s and it would be a fair amount of work to fit one in a bug. Tell her not to be a big girls blouse and learn to drive a manual, shit even I can drive a manual.

The semi auto, is a great car to drive, with its SuperBug IRS rear end and was made from 1968 till 1976..
I have only seen Standard beetle Autos, never seen a Super beetle Auto, but they may have been made, & all sold in the US... A great if not rare Beetle...

I have sent You a U2U message..
