Reminds me of when I was in high school. i used to escape from my house at 2am and set off rocket cars at the train station car park in Gordon (Sydney). They were made from a skateboard with a chlorine bomb attached to the top and holes in the lid. It took about a dozen goes before we could get a sustained release explosion to create controllable forward momentum. Sometimes it just exploded instantly. A couple of times it became airborne. When it was right it would take off at incredible speed. I'm surprised I'm still alive.

Hmmm, hydrogen peroxide. I like it. The problem is getting hydrogen peroxide in the higher concentrations. You can use a desicant drying method to increase the strength. I have a number of drawings for straight reaction motor units such as the old twin nozzle jet pack. Planty of sites out there with this kinda craziness. I always wanted to substitute the home made turbine on my cruiser with one of these but I was talked out of it, something about volatile material and low brain mass don't mix?
