I agree with Dave, if the oval is in really good nick and has a perfect roof section, I wouldnt do it. Find an oval with a dented roof and do it to that one.
Or better still if can find a Indian Red Oval in Melbourne, (I sold it last year) it was already half done. With a Golde roof that only needing welding in.

Hi David,
Welcome to the Forum.

I'd listen to these guys, this is good advice.

If you listen to me I'd say chuck in a 3 inch lift kit, super digger tyres, cut back those annoying guards, bonnet and engine shroud as the creek crossings will rip them off anyhow. But even I know better than to chop up an Oval so I won't tell you to do all that until you prang it.

Have you got some pics posted of it yet?

david,
i will be doing this to my '56 oval as soon as i hav purchased the ragtop clip from a certain forum member,
i'll let u know how it turns out.
my advice beforehand would be, find someone u really trust to do it or someone who has done one before.
u dont want to ruin an Oval, that would be sacrilegious!:jesus
