Swing Axle SWAP..... Any Tips..


I al Swapping out the Toasted Swingaxle box in My newly aquired Manx buggy, And throwing in a 1500 box that works ( I Hope )....

I have a Workshop manual HOWEVER.. is there any tips/Tricks I should know...
Anything the Manuals do not mention...?
Any info to make my Job A bit easyer would be great...

BTW, 66 pan disc brakes, EA81 Subaru..

if you can pull the gearbox and engine out at the same time. then split them on the floor and rejoin the new box and engine and then put back in. After doing box changes 5 times we found this was the best way, but only on a baja or buggy. good luck it just takes a while.

Un do the rear axle nuts before you start jacking the car up n while its sitting flat.
