Hey Hey
Zac
Your breakin me heart, all the places I would love to go. Hope you have a great time. I hope to make it to Germany for the next Bad Camberg meet!
Kafer.
What has happened to the youth of this generation! I would have thought that helping dear ol dad on his project would have been a bonding thing, I can remember working on my fathers 61 Beetle and blacking the tyres and using pops Splitty as a cubby house. So whats the plans for the notch anyway, Lowering, hot motor, matt black!!!!!!
Had a great arvo yesterday, Visited my friend place and looked over his 54 Oval, very nice original car, bloody great! then went to another friends and had a look at the 59 project bus, they just scored, easy resto, not much rust at all great buy! Cant have a better afternoon than that can you?
Rob...

PLANS.....Is there such a thing.....i thought it was "suck it and see"

doing all the mechanicals at the moment brakes, ball joint, tie rods etc and lowering each corner as I go.
Then i'll tune the engine. I've got an air leak and think I might need to get the carbs bushed.

Body and paint will come after it's reg'd.

OK, so what happened to Tomorrows People TODAY????

How long was the forum down.....went on late last night and the band width had been exceeded...again:jesus

Went to another comedy show and had a good laugh tonight...'Danny Bhoy' this time........Met up with a couple of young American backpackers who I'd served earlier in the day..... had a good talk..and a laugh. They were pretty impressed with being in town during the festival and were searching out cheap tics!!:)

Hmmm, one of them became the butt of Danny's American jokes....Well she did put up her hand to say she was from out of town......NYC..:o:D

Wow
Everyone's got things happening except me! BUT i have a little secret that you guys will have to wait to hear!;)
Jenz.
Glad to see your getting back to your old postal menace self!
Pyro.
Thats the problem with owning and driving old cars, they do suffer the occasional breakdown. Most of our VW's have long exceeded the factorys projected lifespan. Thats why it is important to get yourself a little stash of spares, antoher gearbox and engine becomes good value, when something like what has happened to you occurs.
Kafer.
I finishe welding in the other heater channel repairs, and now only have two little slithers I have to weld in, and I am finished welding, can't be too soon I can tell you.
Zac.
Hows it going over on there. Picked up any nice women yet? and have you seen any nice VW's.
Splittychick.
How's it going with your bus. I went down to Byron and had a look at Judy's splitty. Looks like it should be an easy resto bodywise, very little rust.
Well have to get back to working on the 66 now, I am starting to get enthusiastic now the horrible work has been done!

Finally got all the rear suspension back in (on one side) took me an hour just to get the cover back on the torsion bars..aaargh.
Have it back on the ground on the wekend then i'll do the other side...can't wait.

Finished welding Rob...I don't believe it...just think no more little tatoos.
and to think people pay for that latest craze I hear is being branded.

Glad to hear you've got some spare time Jenz. I've been following the resto on Bel lookin' good.

Sorry to hear about your engine Pyro...but it looks like we're all involved in aproject some way or another....except for Zac of course holidays aren't counted as a project

Just a bugger to get the 4 bolt holes lined up the type3 irs has a small 12mm approx spacer on the back which makes it hard to line up the bolts.
Alot of cursing and swearing lucky the shed is far enough awy from the house. Give me swing arm any day.

The other side should be a breeze now i no exactly how to tackle it.
Just have to fix a ball joint and tie rod end and then the fronts finished too.

Then go crazy with the gloss black paint. Whats a good product for inside wheel arches (POR15 to expensive)

My wife has finally succumbed and even comes and sits in the shed with me. She must be after something.

Maybe she's just making sure i'm working so Ben can have my ute.

It's amazing the difference when you "have to" work on the car rather than wanting to for something to do.

I think you'd know where i'm coming from.

Logged on and now having to run to work....:jesus

Trying to train my BF to accept my addiction and not be frightened of it....We are back to dating 'only', with me needing assurance that he is not going to get paranoid on me again. We went out last night...he has apparently bought me a big book on VW's which he was pretty happy about...(I'm hoping it's not one I have)

I'm enjoying my time back here but there is more in life....so trying to establish a balance with my friend....

Bel is looking pretty slick...or she will........I'll have to get her pics back up soon :)

Not much has happened this week...they are working on another beetle...plus the Ghia's....they have a busy workshop there!! At least it slows down the drain on the bank account when they are working on other cars:thumb

CYA's

p.s. Tokyo Shock Boys tonight...never seen them before...should be fun!!!!:o

Hey Jenz
Looks like ya got a fairly heavy agenda goin there, work, shows and VW's, how do ya fit it all in?
The only social life I have at the moment is my affair with the welder and the sanding block! Jodie locks me in the shed at 7.30AM and dosent let me out until dinner time!

Well one side of the notch is lowered and maechanically OK. Except for the pitted front brake rotors. Might get them skimmed on the car.
As you can see from the photo's it came down a bit.
Only thing i'm worried about is that i might have picked the easy side first....:jesus

Man, It's amazing what a bit of experience can do. What took me almost 3 days last week I did in an afternoon . Found the trick with the torsion bar caps as well.
Drop it back on its wheels this afternoon and fingers crossed it will be level.

Hey Zac can I put an order in for a Swedish girl.....;)
