One addiction to another!
Having seen the light i decided to give up smoking. Not that i smoked alot , only down the pub etc. So to aid the process i have been keeping well
busy , doing anything to help.
Only problem is that i've given up something that cost me $10 , $15 a week to something that now costs me $40 a week!
When ever i have free time and would normally grab a smoke i tend to run off and polish my bug or eat jelly beans!
It's OE paint and loving slurping up the Maguiars polish ! At $40 a pop , i'm almost doing a bottle a week. It's the stuff that adds depth and
shine not cutting it back , no probs!
This is crazy , can't believe that i have a polish " habit" !!
Saying that i've got the brightest OE paint going and my 67 looks the tits!
Got to stop the jelly bean thing though , stomach aches after 3 bags!!

what is oe paint?
i remember when my old man gave up smoking. he used to smoke two and half packs of camel non filtered a day, so it was a big effort. anyway he used to
come home from work at the end of the week (telecom) and his car would be littered with those pascal blue and pink wrappers from the columbine
lollies. i am talking hundreds. he would go thru about 8-10 packs a week. needless to say he quickly jumped two waist sizes.
at least you polishing will have a positive benefit. you could possibly argue another project...

hmmmmm.
that Maguiars polish sounds good (besides the price!). Does it fo the same job as cutting back without removing any paint? I have some faded original
paint that needs some attention. Will this product restore the original shine(with in reason of course)? and does it need to be applied repeatedly?

it is time to put the polish down mate,
try weening yourself onto other things like amoural,
or even the vacum cleaner and give the interior the attention that you have paying the outside.
I am sure you have a vacum laying around and electricity isn't that costly.
if that doesn't work we will endevour to get you some polish patches.
some people are like slinky's
they have no useful purpose
but they are fun to watch
when you push them down the stairs

Seriously the polish is worth every cent. Even after using alot of "trade " stuff and alot of expensive let downs this is the real deal , just alot
of elbow grease. I have turned the paint from faded and patchy to gleaming. The original paint now has depth and shine. Okay it's cost me alot of
time and about $120 but to say it's 37 years old is pretty impressive!
Go and spend the dollars , well worth it and helps giving up smoking! Just have have a sore wrist! Mmmm LOL !

'OE' means Original Equipment
or
'OEM' Original Equipment Manufacturer
basically means from the factory.
Parts can be said as OEM if they are genuine same brand as supplied to the car maker when car was made, even if they are not purchased from car
company.
For example if you buy Bilstein brand shock absorbers from another source other than VW Dealer, but they are the same as the Bilstein shockies that
were fitted at the factory.

Armourall is evil on interior plastic surfaces. Don't use it, particularly inside unless you like slippery / shiny plastics.
I've no comment on any of their other stuff as I've never used it.
I quite like the results of Polyglaze Glide On Glaze. Cheap and very effective.

I don't know if it really makes a difference but i was told many moons ago by a guy in the know that you shouldn't polish a car out in the sun ,
does something to the polish? So i haven't and honestly the paint looks 100% better after 4-5 good detailing sessions.$40 is alot but i won't use
anything else now. One of the fancy car dealers in Sydney use this stuff on customers cars , Lambo's etc so i think my next visit will be with an
empty bottle of polish and a word to the detailers , fingers crossed, full bottle!
