i just ruined my ignition barrel! what do i do? --New Questions :(


title says it all..
i got the key jammed in the ignition barrel, and i managed to get it out again.. but key will no longer turn so car wont start.

how much does it usually cost for a replacement and what is involved?

i might have to make my way down to Volkspower me thinks...

...or a locksmith, i had a new barrell made for an existing VW key for about $40...

locksmith will make one up 'eh?

was that $40 installed?

i really have no idea about anything like this.. infact today is the 2 week aniversary of my P's :S lol

Original key would be nice to keep :)

a replacement barrel + 2 keys is $50 at Volkspower and cos dean isnt there i cant get it any cheaper. no locksmiths can come out today (easter rush) god damnit! they want to add another $75 to installation.. should i buy the part and fit it myself?

what does fitting involve?

got the bug towed to Volkspower in burwood.. they fitted a new ignition! YAY!
