Can anyone please help me? - Headlight Stone guards


Bought a pair yesterday when getting ignition replaced. they are smaller than the glass in the headlights but come with clips of some sort. anyone familiar w/ what im talking about?

i got them from Volkspower in Burwood... theyre called "specialty automotive products" Wire Stone Guards (chrome)

my beetle is a '68... i cant get a photo sorry... no camera.. i'll try get the scanner working and i can scan the packet

(or the guards.. is a scanner like a microwave? metal = big bang?)

They do look like early headlamp covers, but it may be the just the pic.
Those two wire clips are what holds VW headlamps together, under the chrome rim...
They don't just push over the glass do they??
and pivot out from the top on those metal clips somehow,,'
You need to be able to get at them, to clean the glass...

i have a set for my bay kombi, but on mine the clips haev been replaced with little tqabs that screw to the front of the headlight surrounds.
