shocks on front beam
Hi all
I have a question regarding fitting a pair of shocks to the front beam.
i have an adjustable front beam with cb performance dropped spindles.
Do i need to fit the shorter shocks or are the standard shocks ok.
Also i was looking at the koni's. Which ones are more suited for street, the red or yellow ones

Depends.
The dropped spindles do not affect the suspension height, geometry or travel at all, so the standard shocks are just fine with that.
On further lowering the bug/bus/bicycle (it's generally useful when seeking advice to give a hint as to what you drive) using the adjustable beam,
you are reducing the suspension height and might need shorter shocks to cope with that, depending how much you lower it.
As a set of Konis is over the $1K mark, I'm sure they'll throw in advice about what colour to buy.

Over a grand?????????? for 2 Konis???? Whodafukarya dealing with charging like that??
I hope this is a set of 4 yeah? Please correct me if I am wrong dude.... I am having difficulty keeping the contents of my stomach intact.
I paid less than a grand last year for my adjustable red konis, valved and oiled to suit and converted to adjustable coilover with springs.
Remember that all hydraulic only Konis are made here in Australia under license from Koni by Proven products in Albury. Despit what the sticker or
your best suspension M8 says.
The standard length shock will be fine despite lowering the car as the suspension will still only compress as far as its bump rubbers. This presumes
that the bump rubbers are still employed and not modified to get further travel on bump.
If the suspension bumps first onto the shock there are serious issues that need fixing.

Thanks for the info
The car is a 68 beetle running 16 inch dia wheels
Any more info would be greatly appreciated
Also any one got any advice on where to get the shocks from
