do all fly wheels have o rings ???
I am fitting a fly wheel to a 1600cc motor and the fly wheel I have does not have the o ring grove .Do you fit a oring to the out side of the crank ?
this would slid down near the shims ?
what do I do ??

the case seal goes on to the flywheel,but having just pulled the flywheel off of my 1200 it looked like it had selastic in between the end of crank
and the flywheel to seal, dont know if this is the right practice though

yes I have seen this before the ones I have fitted up before had a o ring grove in the spigot . the one I have in the shed does not .
so I am sitting hear awating so one to tell me how to sort it all out .:cry

The 1300/1500/1600 flywheels all had a groove cut into the inside for the graphine covered o ring that seals with the crankshaft.
the 1200 flywheels used a gasket that sat on the face of the end of the crankshaft (it has holes cut in it for the dowels to go through). I think you
will need to get a later flywheel

a 1200 fly wheel is 180mm ? mine is 200mm 1500 /1600 seagull:jesus

is probably a early type 2 or type 3 flywheel which was 200mm and 6v which was the non o-ring type.

if it is 6v it only works with a 6v starter and 12v only with a 12v starter regardless of what diameter clutch it is.
6v has 109 teeth
12v has 130 teeth
