Petrol Overflow
Hai,
Ok, so I have a temperamental fuel guage and last night when I looked at it, it was below empty.
I couldn't remember how much I'd been driving so I filled up. As the petrol pump never wants to click off for me, I ended up having petrol
overflowing out near the nozzle.
I went in to pay and when I came out, I had petrol leaking out of the bottom of my car, near the front passenger side tyre.
We searched underneath the car but found no hole and then the fuel stopped. We couldn't even find a wet spot or anything.
It hasn't leaked since but now I'm paranoid that it's gonna happen again. Has anyone else had an intermittent leaking problem or anything that can
explain it or should I head straight to the mechanic?
Thanks.

LMAO--- this used to happen to me all the time in my old 71 type3!
i could be wrong (and probably am) but its nothing serious -- as far as i can remember there is like a little "overflow" hole or something....so
that when you do fill your tank up too much it kinda lets the run off out at the side near where the fuel cap is. My explanation is probably totally
Non-Tech-Correct ...but it also used to happen to me when i went around corners too fast sometimes...hehehe...if the fuel tank was really full... a
bit of petrol would slosh out the side from this overflow thingo..........
it made me VERY PARANOID being a smoker and all.....
but for some reason i dont have that problem with the 73 type3.....
so...my adive...dont stress lokita........but someone else probably has a far better explationation for this......
