EJ22 Subaru looks good

We have a Liberty at work with the EJ22 motor out of it to do some front chassis accident repairs.

Looking at it there on the engine trolley I can just imagine it in the Helbus.

Who has had one engineered in Vic?

I would like to talk to and possibly look at one that has been done.

Are there any pitfalls to the EJ22? They are twin OHCam Yeah?

The mechanic who took the motor out for us said they can collapse lifters sometimes, otherwise he reckons it would be good in the VW.

I would look at using a Falcon AU radiator/ twin thermo radiator setup.

Anyone do a complete fitting kit less motor yet?

The kits you have Brad look good, but freight to melb would be heaps. Being in the trade I may be able to wrangle a fair price on some of the parts, but would have to get the wiring, sump and exhaust done by someone else.

In Perth my mate has one fitted in a trike ( three wheels ) runs the subaru auto .

as this has just been started 7 days ago we have found the following problem

it ran so ritch it filled the sump with 1.5trs of fuel ** not good **

the auto sparky spent two day trying to find the problem .after swaping the ecu ,air flow thingo , oxy thingos .fuel pumps ,regulators , spark pugs ,leads ,check the timing , change the fuel ,run every electrical test you could do he found ?????

untill he touched the wires going to the air flow thingo. presto ran like clock work .

small wire fault .
the car had been in a front smash and some where along the line the wire has been damaged .
so look hard when you buy get all the parts ( the ecu can cost up to $350.00 second hand .
