Poorly maintained roads, council solution: put up warning sign

found a road with warning sign (sorry, camera sux, I can't b bothered taking new piccie): warning to the effect of "this road is not maintained by council, use at own risk, impassable in wet,,".... ok will try passing it then:thumb

looks fairly ordinary at first,,,,

then, round the bend lay a surprise.. Ipswich council has been secretly developing an offroad recreational park:thumb no fees for this journey (better than a crap concrete skate park!)....

the big pic in middle is worst, the blur has smothed out the holes,, looks flat, the road has actually become a dry creek, you can vaugely make out shape of my sister standing in one of the gullies, she is tallish, but is dwarfed by the landscape... we chose to go around not thru fearing we would get stuck and attacked by yowies.lol....:D

The roads in my area aren't that bad BUT the council is. I live in a reasonably new area. The road system is way underdeveloped to cope with the growing population so all the roads have big pot holes etc etc. So many cars have been damaged as a result of hitting them during the night (I forgot to mention the roads are also poorly lit !!!!!!), the council doesn't care less BUT they are happy to take the $2000 council rates per year !

i find that pot holes are easier to see at night as your headlights pick them up well as pools of shadow

wheres the challenge in that eh?????:thumb

Just want to clarify the possible ditz factor here,,,I aint dat dumb! It is literally down the road from where I live, (which may I add is a one pub town) figured if we did get stuck could just trek back to civilisation,, find someone down at pub who could get it out in exchange for a few beers! Every second car down this way is a landcruiser ute!pmsl... failing that there is always a farmer joe with the tractor plan! hehehehe.......hmmm I really am painting a feminine picture of myself here.....oops...ahh well...:sandrine ...

I'm been offroading around grandchester. Some good old tracks out there, but I never can figure out if I'm on private property or not. My cousin lives at Walloon.
