Hi all! Dunks here, new to the place!
Hi All,
Dunks here (Duncan if you want to be formal!)
Just been hanging around here reading your wealth of information you have going here, mainly i`ve been searching the web like crazy to see whats
happening in the world of veedubs as i`ve been out for a year or two (21years old and already in and out!)
I suppose i`ll lay out my history!
Bought my first car with a whole $1000 was a orginal condition 1964 beetle bought mainly cos of the early style and thought would be a reliable car!
pffft! how wrong i could be, i learnt never to buy a car without a rwc again as it costed about 4grand to get on the road. So we went the whole hog
and restored the car for aroung 10k i was very happy untill the need for speed set in so i sold (gave) the car to my sister for 2k
AND BOUGHT A HONDA.... *sniff*
Well the honda was not fast enough so i`m now settled with my speed machine (kawasaki zzr600)
So the love affair set back in and i bought a 1972 T3 squareback as a run about untill the love of my life (sad) is on the road there comes a time in
a mans life when it can only be filled by a Oval so from my mechanic i
bought a 1956 Oval is so so condition with the idea of doing most of the work myself, wanting to learn as much as possible while doing things a little
diffrent.
"A PLAN IS HATCHED"
Wanting to keep the look of the oval as stock as possible with a gunmetal grey paint job red leather seats lots of chrome and lots of stock appeal,
but! wanting it to run like a new car, stop like i pressed the pedal, and steer like i meant to go around the corner.
Well you`ll probably see me around here asking all sorts of stuff, just thought i`d say hi before i probe all sorts of info out of you`s! |
