WTB: good, working, cheap motor for racing
Hey guys
just wanted to put feelers out and see if there were any motors people were willing to party with fairly cheaply but it needs to be a working motor.
I think i may have myself a basic body and gearbox but no motor and i wanna make this into a race car for my motorkhana and khanacross...
but just seeing at this stage... Nehelp would be appreciated!
Ciao

like a baja with larger bak wheels and shortened bonnet and is in ok condition.. interior a bit rough but apart from that got the OK from a good
friend! Will try and get the stats but i guess askin around to see wat motors are available in general... knowing nething at the moment is beta than

I think it's faily difficule to successfully say the words "cheap" and "racing" in the same sentence unless you are talking about a foot race.

For motorkhanas a 1600 should do you to a tee. You can always chuck on a really small turbo later to get you some boost out from between the cones

Make sure you check out the racers forum. We have no girls in there currently

Well yes i think a 1600 should do me just fine for the moment. Im really only wanting to do this as a hobby i.e the 'CHEAPNESS' of things is put in
bcos a hobby isn't suppose to cost ya your entire savings! :P tho some of us have experienced this im sure! hehehehe
JAY: The 1600cc should b great... ty very much for the pics! I should b able to find out in the next couple of days how much it would cost me to get
it up here... so now i guess it all hangs on that!
And Cam... you'll have a chick on that racer's forum b4 you know it
I dont see any reason why chicks can't do this stuff...
With the new addition to the family which should be home in a couple weeks and gettin worked on, I'll just take my time and try to do as much myself
with some help along the way! I want to do as much of this car as i possibly can... I'd love to be able to say "I DID THAT!"
So... here we go guys... yet another resto adventure about to happen!
ciao and thanks for all the comments and support guys!
Luv

just have to find the perfect Fonze! aaayyyyyy!
I am more into the climbing over things aspect, I like the idea of taking vee dubs where they arent really sposed to go, and sticking things on that
aren't really sposed to be there (maurauders-mad max etc.... nuffin like a bunch o men running round desert in bondage gear killing things!)... Like
the idea of that buggy bash tho!
Hey kat is it actually a baja?? If so you could take advantage of the best of both worlds!
Will have to be there on 2nd to suss out you chicks! lol. |

i am sposed to be doing the books 4 the accountant! buttttt.. I am easily
distracted, esp by the search thingy in here!!!..... there is a lot of stuff in here kat, just pick a word or term ur unsure of,, and 8 out of ten
times there is sumfin on it or a starting point!
My fem friends think my passion is vulgar.lol. but as is the case with my sis.. one drive offroad... " I WAN'T ONE" hehehe..
The povvo method is the best way to go, you learn so much more about ur car! Read up on the idiots manual, it's essential for saving big $$$!
Go for it, I wish i had come out of the vw closet yrs ago,, I just repressed the urge for fear of the 'butch' label. Now I am out.. "say it loud,
say it proud... yes I love my sewing machine" hehehehe:P
btw; Baja= chopped front, chopped back,, cage fiberglass gaurds, can't miss it.. Take a look at my sexy bum in mu avatar.. mines a boy too as it has
a doodle aircleaner!
