OVALS ONLY CRUISE CANCELLED DUE TO FIRES!
The F3 from Sydney to Newcastle is rarely closed. Today it has been repeatedly opened and closed all day due to a fire front and spot fires.Tomorrow
the conditions are expected to worsen. It's not nice to be in an oval on a thirty degree day let alone when you're surrounded by fire.
Sam and I have decided it is safer if we reschedule the Ovals Only Cruise.
Imagine if most of Sydney and Newcastle's drivavle ovals got incinerated all in one go!
It's a real bummer. I know people from club veedub, flat four and others would have come if not for the fires. Next time Sam and I are confident
we will have at least a dozen ovals and a lot of other volkswagens.

That's good and bad news for me as I just broke my clutch cable this afternoon and haven't got a reasonable spare. Need a new one and
another as a good spare.
I will be still going into the foreshore but probably in the wife ride, at least if it's thirty its aircon and tinted so the bronze buggers in
the back won't be complaining.
I hear a couple of others will be going into the forshore anyhow and their always is cruisers in there going around and around and around. If the
locals still want to go in I'll see you all there. We hope to get in there by about 1430 hours and will stay for about an hour. Just listen out
for the thumping coming from a yellow Oval (Sam) as I'll be somewhere around there.

Yeah I did see that .:thumb....The car is a Vintage Spyder owned by a guy in CA called Rhino??? It has a 2.4 ltr now with turbo (with swing axle!).
He's trying to make the most authentic James Dean replica.....goes on about having the correct dirt from 1950..whatever in the original style
carpet and all that sort of stuff. He hates it when I remind him "it's not real...OK". hehehe
It does have the required amount of shtick though.

In Newey last Sunday
VWFOOL....I was up in Newey last Sunday in the Speedster (last minute decision to go) and was amazed at the amount VWs up there, bay windows esp. Had
lunch at Meriweather Pub (spell), not a bad spot for a feed and a quiet one. Did the cruz along the foreshore, checked out the douff- douff cars with
the rubberband tyres and airbrushed hoods etc. Nice day, pity the ovals cruz was off...but next time.:thumb
Remember that 356 replica that went on ebay.com.au (Melb) a while ago for $10K, well I think it's in "Unique Cars" mag this month for
$23.5K.
