Restoring Genuine superbeetle convertible

We are looking at buying a genuine beetle convertible and it will need new canvas and headliner for roof, new carpets and door trims, seats may be able to be repaired or re upholstered. My question is it better to import the original roof and interiors or is there someone in Brisbane who can do a good job. Also if anyone has a good 71 superbeetle floorpan. Pam

Hmm might be best to import what you need (hood) and have it fitted here by someone who has done it before. Apparently, they are quite complicated to fit. Maybe Mick Motors can help? Otherwise, Vintage VW suplies in Sydney has doen afew, I think...

I would also suggest logging onto http://www.superbeetlesonly.com  and having a chat over there.

Obviously - the super vert was quite common over there and you should get a bit more info there.
the verts even have there own section.

I would also try Classic VW in Rydalmere NSW.
George is doing a 59 KG vert at the moment and if he can get parts for that then a super vert will be a piece of cake.

You can import yourself what you need. I got all my vert bits from Dave at convertible specialties. i did all the ordering via email.
