Rack and pinion out of any jap front cut. Just another piece you get when you buy a complete front cut:P Does not look that hard to do.

Tricky bit is getting the geometry of the steering right so you don't get bump steer.

Its a good idea to replace the standard steering box with a stronger one like Hq holden or something, but to put a longer pitman arm on is better then
power steer.

??? A Longer pitman arm would mean Heavier steering? It would mean less turns lock to lock but heavier steering.
The Holden steering box would be lower geared than the beetle box however so it may need a longer pitman arm to acheive the same turns lock to lock.

When I was growing up, the kids across the road had power steering on their push bikes.
It meant riding no hands.
Maybe you could do the same with your buggy, LOL

I agree with you, but how hard is it to steer now ???? Yes it will make the steering heavier but with less turns its easier to drive !!!!!!

Hi
Some cars used a powered ram, it would be easy to fit one of these and use a semi auto oil pump for the power steering pump or just make sure you eat
your weetbix for breky.
