My 55
O'k guys it has been a year since my 55 bug was written off by a d!@K H@#d on a motorcycle, who did not give way to his right on a round-about.
So i thought i would post a pick to remeber the good times that where had in this car.
(previously it had some big dents in the roof, but I popped them out to stop rain build up)
Cheers Damian

Hey mate, do you still have the wreck ? That car IS NOT written off. Its repairable (from what I can see in the photo). It would be a big job, but its
only panel beating, the professionals can work wonders (you wouldnt believe what is repairable). I bet the insurance company wrote it off though ?
Should get a respectable panelbeater to quote on it (if you still have it). I bet you drove it home ?
After all that, it looks like a sweet little oval. I bet you had a lot of good times in it.
There will be another : )

Pity I'm not in TAS
I agree. New door, new left hand sill, possibly new left hand floor pan and the rest would probably pull out.
Revive the Oval !!!!

55 oval
G'day
first of all "The Motorcycle Rider"
- He walked out of hospital that day
- Of course he was un insured
2) Yeah I still have the car, I couldn't part with it after the time that was put into it. Me being an architecture student had it fully insured,
but probably not for what it was actually worth. - My panel beater who sprayed it in spies hecker 2k come down and had a look at her just after the
accident, first words he said was she's f@#$@D, knowing from an assessor's point of view that the damage done was enough to write her off
"for the time being anyway". The good guy that my panel beater is let the 55 sit in his bodyworks for a couple of months, until the
insurance mess was over and I was ready to pick her up.
The damage to the b pillar and heater channel is fairly substaintial. also discovered after the crash was a dodgy repair job on the A pillar that was
done in Melbourne a few owners before me. I have had many people want to buy it from me including Volma1. But at this stage it is not for sale as I
plan to do it up after I get my 61 splitscreen ute on the road "Purchased from Volma1".
cheers Damian

Och!!!
Amazing that the motor cycle rider walked out of hospital so soon just looking at the damage.
I hope you do keep it and get it back on the road. Good luck with it!

That's a sad story - I'm glad I can't match it.
It does look Slow n Low but as it is it's probably too slow so you might need to give it a vamp before cruisin again. I've got a knack for
stateing the obvious.
Don't sell it - and if you do make sure it's to go on the road again.
Cheers for the post and look forward to catching up with you some time soon.

While we're talking damage
$3000 in bodywork (restoration was completed 2 months earlier)
$6000 for new engine (totalled)
All paid and back on the road

The 55
Hey Guys
-The 55 to date still sits in my driveway, receiving much attention from people that drive by. at the moment my 61 single cab is taking preference
over the oval. but it will be a slow hall, as I have to track some parts down for it and continue to do the copious amount of bodywork that it
requires.
Harsh Luck Oppressa with the S bug, hope you are back on the road soon.
Cheers
Damian
