Not one to bitch... but!
Don't you just hate it when people spray Bay's with the split V form at the front?
I think it looks dodge-a-rama!
Petty I know, but aren't we all?

Looks like one of four that were up for sale about 2 months ago on carsales.com. Red, Green and 2 shades of Blue - were also in Unique Cars
Can't disagree more with the v - suites splitty's only.

Oops! Hopefully they didn't do it themselves.
Nice white down over the belt, or 100% single colour is my pref for a bay. Mine's white down to the channels, as you can see from my Avatar, but
I'll rectify that eventually!
Didn't mean to diss anyone with different taste (READ HERE CRAP TASTE!). I reckon a knife fight at the next nationals should solve the issue. Who's
got the V bay then anyway??? Do you think I can beat you with a butter knife?

yup i agree too, just doesnd fit the flow of the lines of the car at all. the only idea that i have seen that close to works is running a curve down
from the waistline to the upper corners of the embossed rectangle on the front then working the line to the edge of the rectangle all the way round.

I've seen the rectangle picked out with the same colour as the roof (to the Belt), and that looked better, but still pretty shite.
I did see one ages ago in Germany with flames over the front wheel arches and further back higher to the window glass. It was a pro job, and I have to
say it looked really cool. Red on dark blue (all over). I'm a bit of a stickler for tradition, but it was really wicked! Shame I didn't have a
digicam back then!

Sgetty had a bay twincab with that paint that I thought actually looked ok, the best I've seen. I think it was because it was an early bay with no
bumber and for some reason it seemed to work. But I agree that it generally doesn't look good at all, ESPECIALLY when the V comes down into a sharp
point...

Personally I don't like bays painted as splits. It's just wrong. What's even worse is bays with fibre-glass fake split fronts glued on.

but its a VW trying to be a different VW..
not an adaptation.. like baja.. or a style.. like cal look, or rat..
its one model trying to emulate a rare-er model.. (emulate is my word of the day btw)
like getting a sex change.. not quite right.. (no offence anyone with a sex change or a bay/split paint job.. just my opinion.. )
does this make me a purist?

value your opinion killa but i see as it more of a customising thing, someone trying to express themself through a different way, i think the paint on
the first one does look alittle dodgy but i loved the front of the one i bought of vwtyp2 looked neat. dont get me wrong though i would never chop
the front off a splitty to put on a bay unless the splitty was absolutly rooted.
heres a pic

Wow! I've never seen that done before.
For me, SGETTY's pic is a whole other ball game tho'. It's technically not a bay front panel, just a bay screen. I guess there are exceptions to
the rule. You live and learn!
S'pose the knife fight's off then!?! Bugger, I had a really cool plastic picnic knife sharpened up nice and mean! Grrrrr!
