And another...this time only measly 18in. Man I think I might get a complex with only 17in on my beetle :cry

pod, I agree, but only on period-styled cars... Cars with more modern styling, such as Steve Carter's bug, look great with big alloys.

i dont mind the newer rims on the older period cars, but I reckon they should have more metal rather than the spindley spider-like spokes... some
Merc E-Class rims would look good, as would some Jag-styled rims...

I think they look good.
Not what I would do, I like the older style on older cars.
But each to there own taste on their cars

why don't you give the jacket a go-could start a new trend-couldn't be any worse than the crap our people are wearing now trying to keep up with
the yanks.

I must admit I am not a huge fan of the second one but love the first (although would have ditched the two tone).
Pod and Robo, I gather you are not German/Euro Look fans?
I guess thats what makes the vw scene so cool, so many different looks and everyone likes different styles. Personally I get bored looking at car
after car of 100 point stock restos... and I do like tweed jackets with leather patches!!
(just kidding) :P

Do look good on older bugs but not with a 2 tone paint job. All a matter of taste i suppose

purists will hate me. i think they both look tops, you can't go past an old school car with nice paint, on it's guts and big rims, just me though. i
do still appreciate the original llok, the only thing i hate is ride height. i like my cars LOW
