Anyone used or seen these before?
I was having a read through a 4X4 mag just to get and idea of the weapons they'll be using against us next when I saw an interesting article on bead
lockers. These were pneumatic beadlockers not the mechanical ones, they sit inside your tyre like a mini tube and hold your tyre on the rim securing
both the inner and outer beads. The guy in the mag took the valves out of his baja claws and was running around with zero tyre pressure climbing up
everything. There's more infor on the site http://www.secondair.com.au/default.cfm but also they will act as an low profile inner tube for emergencys. According to
the mag they are illeagal for road use (even though the site says they aren't) but they are practically invisible and the only giveaway is the second
valve which no one will notice just walkin past or looking from a short distance. So has anyone tried them? The price would be prohibitive but it
would be awesome to have a set even just for the rears, then you could take your tyres as low as you want with no worries! Better start saving....

What makes them illegal is the fact that you have to drill a hole in the rim for the valve.....From memory they were about $200 each

Well in my Towdster and Manx i will drop my tyre pressuses to 3-4 pnd off road and have had no problem, even going down to 1or2 pnd. The baggier the
better just take it easier on the black top to you get some air PS I only run 18pnd in the rear and 14 in the Front on the street as you have got to
remember wheather it be a Manx or a Baja they do not weigh as much as a 4WD.
