Olinda/Mt Dandenong Bugs

Today I was parked at the bakery at Olinda and a really shiny black bug parked next to me, but the guy didnt even look at me!
Then on the way home I spotted another shiny black bug in a driveway, this time with a wooden luggage rack on the back. Both looked to be very nice cars.

I grew up in the Dandenongs... My Dad had 6 beetles (at once!) and I always knew at least three kids at school whose parents had a kombi. I guess the place just got yuppified...

Yeah i think most people expect there to be heaps of dubs up there but there arent many on the road, maybe on peoples properties though. There is often a nice porsche on the way up from the burwood hwy end too.

I waved at a girl in a nice white beetle at the Shell servo in Nunawading last week and she looked at me like I was a freak or a nut. Maybe 'thumbs up' doesn't mean anything to some people, but when I'm in the Beetle, Helbus or the EH I know what it means. - If I see ya. :)

Yeah theres a chick who works at that servo (corner springvale & whitehorse) and drives a superbug i think.
Thats where I fill up my bug coz I think that they get heaps of customers there and therefore they get new fuel regularly and it is fresh, sometimes they run out!
There is also a chick who works at forest hill who drives a nice stickshift auto, parks outside the kmart side entrance.

I'm suprised VW ppl dont wave at each other more.. From what I have experienced (and no offence to anyone here) The 'oldies' that just use VW's as Hitler intended and dont really follow the whole VW spirit thing, they seem to not wave... for me, I spot beetles from the corner of my eye - which can get dangerous in peak hour traffic!

:kiss for everyone

I am near Clayton, and make sure that I wave whenever I see a dub. Today I saw three, driving. Yay! One was VWRX, a matte black lowered bay bus, passed me down Clayton road. I had a momentary power loss (she does that at the most inopportune moments!), so couldn't catch up and wave though.

A big hello to all Dandenong Rangians out there, I lived in the Patch. There's heaps of potheads out Monbulk way.

I was down at Brighton yesterday afternoon. On the way into the beach carpark at the end of North Rd, a guy in a bug coming the other way gave me the bong on hand signal. :thumb
