Newbie with a '69 Bug ( with Pic)
On Friday I picked up a '69 Bug in reasonable condition for my son, ( 16 going on 17) with rust in the usual places, heater channels and front door
pillars, a little where the rear guards meet the tub. Lot's of Bog , but only filling dings and dents, so they're no great problem, just some simple
panel beating to be done there.
My son wanted to follow in my footsteps by having a "Classic", and not some flash plastic without a soul. We have 6 months for the project, before
he's eligible for a drivers licence.
Below is a link to a pic of the Bug arriving home after I picked it up, using my '54 Willys , the VW is unregistered, but drivable ( actually it has
an excellent motor)
I've seen the adverts for Micks in Brisbane, so that's the one and only dealer I've managed to find .. so far...
Are there parts sellers nearer to Maryborough, Qld which I could visit and get a look at what's available.?
Cheers
Jon

Hi Jon,
What you need to do, is in the top right hand corner of your screen (below the 'logged in as JeepDraw')
There is a link saying 'Control Panel/ Options'
Click on that, then your control panel will pop up.
there is a button there saying 'Edit profile'
http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/forum/memcp.php?action=profile
http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/forum/memcp.php
And that should be it.
(i think though if you click on the first link there it should take you straight to in anyway though)/
Cheers,
Zac

Thanks fellas, I checked out the Web and the Yellow pages yesterday, there's a bloke up in Bundy, and a few parts dealers near Micks in Brissy. I
have to take the lad down there on Monday .. some Uni. Engineers thing he's doing on the school holidays. so we can check out what's available.
The biggerst concern at the moment is the front seats, one's a high back and the other is .... well..not so high, but they do match..... they're
both buggered.....
I checked the local wrecker and I can get two matching Hyundai seats , came out of a roll over on a car which had done only 4000k, so they're almost
brand new. What is generally used that fit... or is it still possible to find originals for a '69..... any ideas?....
Below is a pic of those matching seats....
Thanks for the help on the Profile too. all fixed now...Much appreciated..
Cheers
Jon

As a few pople had asked for an update, below is what the heater channels looked like after I removed most of the bog..the other side is just as bad.
I'm making up new panels and I'll post a pic of the job after welding .....oh! the joy of it all!...
