split steering help


hey everyone, got a bit of a problem . When I turn the steering it make a horrible sqeaking noise. Ive stripped it down and found that it is coming from the steering arm shaft (pictured). I have taken the locking bolt out and the squeaking stops. So how do I take this shaft out to oil it up ??? any helpers.

in fact does the locking bolt have to be in

for sale splitty bus front beam $150 it's gotta go



i have replaced the beam in my 1960 split bus with an adjustable beam so now have no use for this one. So it's for sale. was working allright in the bus, and seems to be good. has the hubs still attached. asking $150 for the lot. you pick up. ph or email me for more info. but I have taken the bolt from the steering shaft and no squeak reattached it and it squeaks therefore I believe its this part as photo but how do I get it out , anyone know???

If that is a grease nipple on the pivot bush housing try greasing it with a grease gun. To remove it undo the bolt holding the arm onto the spline (at the top) and lever the arm off with a large screwdriver. If you do this laying under it, the pivot bolt/shaft will fall on your head. Ring Mick Motors and get a replacement pivot bush/bolt and replace the whole thing. Put a bandaid on your head.Easy!!!:thumb
