How much for a 2nd-hand new bug?

Hello...I am wondering if any of you know the approximate price of a 2nd hand new beetle around 2000-2001, 2L?
I have been looking in the trading post ect and the cheapest I have seen was $19500.
Thanx :D

Jo that is a really good price as the auctions are selling new beetles for around this price. Also depends on how many KLM and how the paint and the interior is. Mine is in pretty good nick except the plast around the door grab handles is pealing which is common as even the Audi does this.

Check the service history....... make sure its service on a regular basis.

Ask the question "Why r u selling it???" I work in a New and Used car yard that has branches all over Brisbane and lets just say the commong reasons people sell cars or trade them is:

1. The family has out grown the car.
2. Warranty has run out
3. Not suited anymore
4. Something wrong with it.

Most of all do lots of reseach.... its probably the same as any car in the market.... just my 2cents worth.

Since you are in Brisbane.... i can ask our wholesaler he may know someone that has one. At the moment we dont have one but you never know what tomorrow is going to be like.

If you would like to speak to Gary Banks from Motorline VW he maybe able to help you as he is the Brand Manager. Ph 07-32907650.

If i can be more assistance then give me a call on 07-3824 8997 or 0423 430067

Cheers Moniek

I have been up to motorline on sunday and had a bit of a look around and saw a cute blue one but it's 30grand. But I did send them an email so waiting to hear back on that one. At the moment I am doing lots of research so when the time comes I will know what im looking for.
I was thinking of going to a caryard and seeing if they could find one for me with everything I wanted. Would it be better just buying off someone privately?

Do a search of Sydney car yards, the sydney morning herald on saturday as prices are generally cheaper down there.
