Micrometer

Hi

I'm about to start rebuilding my motor, and want to check the wear in pretty much everything. Does anyone know where I might be able to hire a micrometer or some other highly accurate measuring tool? In Sydney, preferably the north/north west or any chain of rental places.

Ta

there are places that do hire the stuff. in brissy we have aplce called tech rentals, tehy would probably do it. or try ur local mechanic and ask him or even it might be worth investing in ur own set. But m,ake sure you spend the money on a good one.

Wow, their Sydney office isn't far at all. Thanks a lot, I'll be giving them a ring tomorrow.

Andrew you will need mics up to 100 mm and also inside mics or telescopic gauges to measure the bores plus small hole gauges for the valve guides .
