Hazard Light switch

OK I'm about to run outside and disconnect the wiring to my hazard light switch...

The light in the switch has been on all day....I've fiddled with it to try and get it to stay off but it comes back on!!!!

This is the light in the switch not the hazard lights/indicators themselves....

I'm getting worried my battery will be dead in the morning even though it's a tiny globe....

Any ideas what might be wrong???

Back soon...it's getting dark and I want to see the wires...

How do I get the bulb out.......:jesus

I've just had a fiddle...the light went out when I giggled the wires....I think water may have gotten in..it's been pouring and there's a bifg pool of it under that area of Dr L..Could it leak down from the vents in front of the windscreen?

Without unscrewing the fuse box I couldn't feel where the wires connected to the Hazard Light thingy/switch box...behind the dash...

The light is out now...but will check in a minute as it hasn't stayed off for long when I've only fiddled with the knob....

My fingers are crossed for now..

....the light's still off!!!

the knob holds the switch on centre if the switch is dicky it could cause problems. it might be better to lift the battery terminal

?...disconnect my battery under the seat?

I know in the manual they were talking earth wire to hazard light and disconnecting it forst before other wire...or wires...

I can't feel where they actually connect to the sitch box...

Do you reckon it's OK until the morning as is without the switch on....it's dark out there now...

I can unscew the fuse box and get to it all better in the day light....

if you take the terminal off there is no chance of the battery draining over night. at the worst you will lose the memory in your stereo if that.

The stereo has it's wiring by passing something....cos it was draining the battery.....so no memory.....I have to start fresh every day....scanning ...scanning.....

I need a really good electric mechanic to sort all this out once and for all!!!!!

The guy I bought Dr L off had people looking at him....I've had my mechanic look at him.....I need the absolute guru of auto wiring....:sandrine

I would just leave the knob in the glovebox... Jenz...
The lights didn't flash before, so they shouldn't now...
Its a pain to have to disconnect the battery...

and water shouldn't be getting in behind the dash...

if the windscreen rubber isn't sealed properly, there are small holes in either side under the rubber for the water to run.... I have sealed these holes... and fish oiled under the rubber so the metal won't rust... or You can use windscreen sealant or silicon to seal the rubber...
this water can rust down behind the door hinges...
I would fish oil everywhere... [well I have in My Car]

Is this the Beetle or the Guy You bought Dr L from?? :):)

I hate scanning the stations.... I have to do it every time I go to Sydney etc...
My Brother in Law's Magna , had a flat battery....
He had the CD player in it replaced with a better one.... when He bought the car in Darwin...
Now it doesn't work.. and He doesn't know who has the security code to make it work again...
