Link Pin Front End Reassembly
Been putting the missing torsion bars back in my Ghia over the Xmas break (previous owner had taken one out of the top and bottom to lower it).
I've got the bottom torsion arms in no problem, but I'm having trouble with the top ones. I can't get the torsions on without twisting
the arm up a bit so it clears the bump stop! When I have it up its under pressure and won't move inwards easily! Does anyone know what the trick
is with getting these back on? Or is it just brute force? I'm worried I'll damage the arm or bearing!
Thanks
Steve

yep thats how they are Steve
just knock it in with a rubber or soft face hammer..... dont belt SHIt out of it but just tap carefully.
leave the rubber bump stop off till later will be a bit easier.

Still stuck
Dave/anyone
I've got one side in, but the other side won't go in now! The torsion bars are at a different angle to the arm. I can't move the arm
any lower as its already sitting on the bump stop (minus rubber). It looks like the bars have to twist around about 20-30 degrees to line up with the
square hole in the arm?
Any ideas on how I do the other side?
Thanks
Steve

Done
Dave/all
Managed to get it in. The trick is to loosen all the allen key bolts when you have one side in, then gently tap the tosion bars from the side thats in
toward the car. This should give you enough legnth on the other side to get the arm onto the bars at a normal angle. Once its on, you need to push it
on over the bump stop. When both sides are in, you then need to locate the bars properly on the allen bolt grub screws and tighten them when they are
100% in place.
Took a bit of fiddling, but they went on with some persuasion.
Now to grease it up!
Thanks for your help Dave
