Here's my baby, she's not dropped on her guts but she's about 2 inches lower than standard, with whitewalls now.

Does anyone know who owns the bright red ghia convertible in the above pic (line of three kgs) - the middle one.

I would love to get in contact with them to find out how they squeezed the 16x6 and 16x7in Fuchs under those tight ghia guards. I know he narrowed the rear end but would like to get some more info.

cheers
alan

I know I saw starsk and Hutch the other night and it brought a tear to my eye.

If want to see more vw destruction, check out rumble in the jungle with the rock. They kill at least 6 vw's.

Film makers have no taste.:cry

You'll be please d to know Bones I saw a show a few weeks ago about movie wrecks...

The new cars are ones that have been donated by manufacturers after testing etc.

The old ones they buy from wrecking yards - the worst condition the better for them. The cut all the strong bits out and even replace missing panels with foil covered carboard. The cars are painted then used.

If the car is stationary when hit they even usually take all the suspension out and weld the rims to a soft pole then to the body.

Don't worry. Most the time they are wrecking cars that were lined up to go in the crusher...

The most common fibreglass shells used by U.S. film studios -
VW Beetles
Lincolns
VW Microbuses
Ford Pinto
Toyota Corolla

(The order might be wrong but that was the top 5)
