What's the craziest / weirdest thing you have driven?
I was going through some old pics found I've driven some weird things.
Like when I had the body off my Baja, I drove the floorpan around. Nothing like driving a floorpan with a 1916cc engine with twin 44IDF webers to get
the heart going. I actually found it a bit dangerous because the throttle cable got stuck wide open and I had no ignition key to switch off. Luckily
there was a tree nearby to stop me.
Then I came across another pic with a similar theme. This is one of Rhys's turbo manx. Yes this one is a SWB pan with a turbocharged 1600 in it. It
was also alot of fun, especially as the turbo spooled up and it just started going like a bat out of hell. But I reckon the 1916 baja pan was
quicker.

well I guess I was more after the weird crazy, but a 993 porsche is pretty cool. I've also been in a GTS dodge viper and a 650HP 426hemi Dodge
Challenger, but they didn't give the same near death experience adrenalin rush as driving a floorpan around

Drove a couple of ancient Albion trucks & a 39 Leyland double decker, crash boxes & no power steering.
Weirdest thing I tried was a 1914 Indian scout. Hand gear change, foot clutch, spark retard where the throttle is on my bike & throttle on the
left.
These where better men than me.
Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.

I had to drive an old mid-70's Falcon once, huge stationwagon, painted matt-black with a huge bullbar that said 'Make My Day' along the bottom.
Long story but I had the keys thrown at me last minute and had to use it to get back to my place.
No instruction whatsoever. Drivers door handle was broken (well, it is a Ford), so had to enter from the passenger side. This car had a T-bar in the
console as well as a manual gearstick, and a manual selector on the column, also had a clutch. Had no idea whether it was actually an auto or a
manual. Eventually found that the clutch was to be used with the column shift (after a lot of stalling). Found later that he had also removed the
radiator and if I had stopped for too long anywhere I would have overheated it. Won't forget that trip.

Flew a twin seater Gazelle with my old boss - great fun!
Drove an old Dennis fire engine, left foot clutch, right was the brake, accelerator was in the middle. Had to drive it around Alexandria/Redfern -
most embarassing!

I test drove- road a 318ci Chrysler powered trike.
It had 904 torque flyte transmission, suregrip diff, 265x50x15 rear tyres.
It was a bad arse toy, only really good for straight line.

probably the craziest would have been an original 1942 LHD jeep around the narrow streets of Dulwich hill, no seat belts no doors , thin steel
steering wheel the only thing to hang onto, a 3 speed floor shift with huge movements between each gear- parked cars seemly about to take my left arm
off & almost no brakes because it had just come back from Fraser island & they were full of sand... twas a lotta fun.
Please, I need drivers side window regulator (winder mechanism) for my '54  |

hahahaha. i accidently drove a suicidal light truck one day for work............
i lied to my workplace about having a truck license... i wanted out for the afternoon!!!! as i stepped into the rickety old machine on a lean, i
figured out how to start it and took off in a hurry....as i approached theT intersection at 70km/h i was excited to find i had no brakes and could
only downchange from fourth to first!!!! arrgghh!!!!!
i took a left turn at this intersection at 40km/h, tyres screeching as it fought to stay upright on the road, am damm sure i had it up on two
wheels!!! the vehicles i was supposed to be giving way to at the intersection screeched to a halt somehow avoiding a pile up apart from the bugger i
forced onto the other side of the road!!
the gearbox was absolutley shagged!!! no amount of double clutching was gonna help me get 2nd and 3rd on me way down and with me foot flat to the
floor i had the most minimal brake clamping ever!!!! no pumping was gona help here either!!! i was crazy enough to continue the trip until i got it
back to the dealership an hour later, but i swear to this day that truly was a SH#TBOX from hell!!!
everything dies baby, thats a fact..
maybe everything that dies one day comes back..
