Scat Drag Fast shifters Question
Ahhhh ! My shifter arrived from the US and is wrong i think. Although i stated the year of my 67 bug (6v) there was a choice of angled or straight. I
went for the straight an have sent me one thats boxed as a 68 onwards bug.
Question is will it fit? Any mods to make it fit?
If not i will have to see if i can get it sold or swapped !
Any suggestions?
Thanks Dan

The bolt patern is the same , be sure to get the ajustment correct Dan apply some grease to the ball when you fit the new one .I jack the rear of the
car off the ground and start it then go through the grears to be sure .

I think the only difference between early and late shifters is that the early ones were bent in a dogleg and at the end of the shifter there is a nib
that sticks out of the ball which sits into a slot which is in the socket of the shift rod, this stops the shifter from spinning around (as it is
doglegged). the late shifters were straight and it wouldnt matter if it spun around. otherwise i think it should fit.

Cheers Guys , we have success!! Fitted it today , did it first time , no fuss at all. My god what a difference! Talk about short throw and a shift
gate like a Ferrari ! Looks the biz aswell. Took abit of getting used to but all i want to do is drive my 67 now .
Nice one
