Fish Oil....

You cannot OVER FISH OIL Your Car, I just leave My doors open and spray it everywhere except on the door locks or hinges. You need to spray in the cavity where the door hinge bolts bolt into....
there are small holes under the corners in the metal under the windscreen rubber, just in case the rubber leaks the water will drip down into that cavity... Its easy to spray from inside the boot area....
Another thing is to leave Your Bonnet UP and spray the fish oil so it runs to the top of the bonnet protecting it against Rust.. which is also common.....:thumb

mix it first

Ihave found if you mix the fish oil with cavity wax
1 part wax 4 parts fish oil, that it will stay in the car once it sets, forever. thats right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 application for the life of the car
I use a plastic squirt bottle to apply it everywhere
get some ice cream containers ready under the car to catch the excess, i used 5 litres of the mix in my splitty
oh! use the deoderised version for this of course

What is Cavity Wax

Ok Ok I hadn't heard of it either before my splitty's resto. My panel guy recommended it and so I went looking for some and found it ...it is a trade product and would you believe it it is not for public use (or so the label says) it is a protective wax that is blown into the body cavitys in cars to help waterproof/rustproof the vehicle the benefit being that because its a wax it will set in the cavity and provide long term protection the one i used is brand name cam wax (see picture) as it is a trade secret we don't know about it but i have just spilled the beans havent I!!! By mixing it with fish oil it then becomes penetrative as well and so much the better . things good for our cars are bad for the rust repair industry, and no wonder kept from us............ :thumb

Lee isn't fish oil a bit smelly. I would imagine even with it deodorised it would stink.

Hmmm, I think I'd go for the next best thing:thumb

Sounds good though. Maybe when I really get serious I'll reconsider;) and drive with the windows down:D

Hey, listen to silver..........

The cavity wax - fish oil combo is the way to go for rust protection.

A good idea is to clean up soon after spraying/ brushing it on, once the wax hardens it's a @$#%@@ to get off.

Does anyone know about lanolin spray/something?? Remember seeing something a while ago, but didn't get any details.

Does the cavity wax have a colour? I would like to treat my engine lid with something, but apparently the stuff the guys use is brown and doesn't look very nice.

YEs i think that the Lanoline spray has better penetrating qualities than the Fish Oil.

I used both on my cars and the Cavity wax was a WURTH product... the exces can be wiped off with a rag Jay.
