Gates on the TwinCab

Finally have the gates on... Wood is Blackbutt, hinges and brackets are powdercoated steel.. back latches are galv..front are stainless.. All fasteners are stainless.. Gate top edges have an alloy angle piece to stop the wood getting damaged.. Rubber stoppers mounted on the gates.. also stainless eye hooks for tarping.. Final bit was the rubber grip mat..
Very happy/.. I'm about to sit down and price these gates so If any one is interested, let me know.. They were not a cheap job though..
Cheers

Thats ok mate.. I've got the original gates which will be repaired some time soon.. I have another 4 2cabs tucked away (unrestored) and will interchange them around a bit.. The rubber mat is great..$200.. What are OG's?

Only that mine is refloored using chequerplate steel.. Extra crossmembers welded in underneath.. I am sure others can give you advice.. Don't throw away your dropgates... No matter what condition!

I wonder if it would be worthwhile tooling up and reproducing the original gates.. There seem to be a lot of enquiries from all over about finding gates../

The cost of tooling up for original style gates would push them up to around the $1500 a set sort of range and that is only if you got a few orders. I looked into it a few years back and yeah there is interest but no one actually wants to pay anything for them....
