Kombi conversion
I may need to replace the motor in my kombi and was contemplating a non VW motor. I was woundering what was the easiest conversion to do and how much
are the adapter plates?
any ideas would be great.

adaptor plates with flywheel new approx $600 -$700
if you do the conversion your self depending on what type of motor you use it's not too hard. if you went a carbied motor which is by far the easiest
way to go no wiring and setting up of computer you could do it for around $1500 that's what it cost me
you need a motor, adaptor plate, flywheel, engine xmember, exhaust and radiator setup you also need to look into your laws regarding engine
conversions then there is the engineers certificate
I’ve had a 3.8L v6 the wiring alone cost $700
and a 4.4L v8 and now a 5L kombi
how much you wanna spend

try and factor in all the peripheral details as well before you makethe decision. that said, rebuilding a 1800/2l is expensive. so dollar for dollar
with respect to performance, the value of a conversion is good.

Aren't we all. My engine and gearbox may as well be on the floor, they are very sad. As a matter of fact, the trnsmission is so sad it is not
working!!!
