So thats Friday 24th, afternoon at Dave's favourite VW lair. If you would like me to bring the Oval (doesnt take much persuasion - I love
driving it ) I will be there a little late, prob about 5:30. Otherwise I'll roll up in a sorry excuse for a Panel van "holden micro
van"
I imagine you'll be touring in some air conditioned luxury car,
I wouldnt like to drive that distance in my Oval but the Kombi is fantastic for long distance driving.
Expect to see you there.:beer

Kool Glen we're on for a beer then. Luv to see the oval mate.
And yeah sorry, my Oval has to stay at home for this one. Have a lot o k's to cover over the two weeks and a fair load too. Kids, Dog, camping
gear, surf boards you name it. So it will be the best of Ford this time.
Looking forward to meeting you all in person.

Don't worry about them. They will be at my Aunties place in Neutral Bay or some where Eastern Bays. Can't remember now.
Better bring a bit of cash and a VW shopping list too I spose.
After driving the Pacific Coast road reckon I'll have a fai thirst up.
Hear ya about the oval. Mines the same, looks great in the pic.

You nearly missed me...
I was about to pack the computer up into a box when I swiged a mouth full of off milk. Must have had the fridge off to long yesterday when we moved
it. Anyhow I needed to sit down after praying to Ralph and though I'd better take 1/2 and hour to check mails and the forum before we keep
packing. Feeling a bit better now.
No worries Dean - We'll be in Dubbo from the Afternoon of the 9th. The house will be a bomb site of course but there will be beer. If not there
will be a bottle shop open. I have to come back to Newcastle on the 10th to pick up the Dog-O-War but will be returning that night or the morning of
the 11th depending on how much else need to be done here.
Will Email you my details (U2U not work) so you can give us a call before you call in. I'll be pretty grumpy too after a week of moving house but
it will be nice to catch up for sure. We'll order out for dinner if you like and all the kids can hassle each other while the wives bitch about
their mens obsessions. Isn't it how it all works at get togethers.
Probably wont have the net connected intil about the 11th / 12th so anyone needs to contact me for what ever my mobile is 0411444334. Sms me or just
call - anything so I can stop packing!

Arrived in Brissie OK. Thanks for the Dinner and hospitality Bronze, its was great to meet you and your family.
The stretch from Dubbo to Bris seemed like a long one and we were really glad to hit the Ipswich freeway. Lots of really interesteing towns a long the
way tho and the trip turned into a bit of a VW hunt. Found a few and will put up details and shots when I get back to Melb.
See the NSW crew on Friday week. :beer

Caught up with Dean (Grey57)
met his lovely wife and kids over dinner and a couple of :beer 's.
Swapped photos and stories and told a few yarns about cruises and meets. The Melbourne seen sound fairly awesome and hadn't really considered
going south for a trip but Dean convinced me otherwise.
The Minister of Expenditure and Leisure resources provided a beautiful roast and we kicked back until our eyes were all hanging out.
Thanks Dean - have a top holiday and look forward to catching you when we visit Vic sometime.

Dean apparent;y havein some car problems - told him he should have taken the Oval. Won't listen these young fellas.
Anyhow they made it to Sydney and there fine bar the fact that they missed out on :beer 's. Emailed Dave Deans mobile number so hopefully they
can catch up and blow the froth of a carton or two.

Sorry I stood you guys up at VVDS today. But I didnt get into Sydney till way after 9 tonite. What a nightmare today. I don't recommend locking
the car keys in the boot of a locked AU2 Falcon , cause you find out how hard these things are to steal. Had to get a cab to take me from a camp
ground 40ks out of Coffs Harbour to pick up a recut door key from the Ford dealer and back to the camp. All this f--cking around meant I didnt get
away from Coffs until after 1.30pm.
On top of this, I fell off my brothers boat in Frazer Island on Monday and got my my phone full of sea water so had no way of contacting you all.
What a week eh. :jesus
Thanks Bronze for putting up the post. Managed to get on the net on my Aunties PC

We're back!! What a road trip!!! You dont really get a full appreciation of the size if this country flying around it. I have seen some beautiful
parts of the big brown land over the past 2 weeks. The Pacific Coast is fantastic. Didnt get to do the South NSW coast this time unfortunatly.
- Kombi Kid, I loved Sawtell its a beautiful place.
Long drive tho. We left the Boonaroo in the Frazer National Park (Qld) on Thursday, drove to Arawarra beach (Coffs H/Bour) that day , then Sydney town
on Friday. Spent Saturday with my Auntie getting the sight seeing tour. (Sorry I couldn't get to VVDS Dave, but family stuff sorta took over)
Then off off down the Hume on Sunday. (long boring drive that one) All up well over 5000ks over the 2 weeks.
Had a bit of bad luck (minor stuff really) with the usual three things happening
1) Drowned Mobile (brand new too)
2) keys locked in the boot ($100.00 cab ride)
3) Damage to the car from a big piece of steel that came off the back of a ute near Holbrooke NSW. This missile bounced off the road and punched a 3
inch hole right thu the floor of the Falcon. Scared the crap out of us all. Could have been a lot worse, but it wasn't.
Anyhoo pretty glad to be back home. Sorry that I didn't get to catch up with the guys in Sydney. (I'll be coming to Sydney for work over the
next few months so we can meet up then.)
Thats again for the dinner Bronze, remember thats a open invite when you guys come to Melb.
I'll get a few pics up of as found Kombis over the next week or so too.
Oh Kol, yeah that sounds like our lantern. I think the bulb is blown. I'll grab it off you some time.
Cheers
Dean

Dont tell me you drove through Coffs Harbour and did not drop in on the Guru

When our family visited Qld last Nov, it was the highlight of my trip.
Now there's someone that knows about VW engines.
- as for missing out on the Beers !
You'd better keep that phone safe next trip and call us.
Sorry you had so much trouble. But its still no excuse. You missed out seeing the Speedster............................................:cry
