accelerator cable to beele.
I am trying to install my accelerator cable to my beetle. I have run into some problems.
I inserted the cable into the tunnel and fed it through, where it comes out of the tunnel there is a rubber tube that it go into before it goes into
the fan housing.
My question is this. IS THAT PLASTIC TUBE NECESSARY, it has fallen out and will be a bitch to put back in???????
Is it ok for the tube to be exposed from the end of the tunnel till it reaches the fan housing???:cry

You mite be able to get away with it, but i have found that even if the bowden tube (the tube through the fan shroud i think?) and the rubber tube
don't join correctly the throttle becomes sticky. I would try and get the rubber tube back it if you can.
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!

Try it without the tube and see what happens...
I can't see You having any trouble ... without it..
To do it properly, the cable should run in a flexible tube from the chassis to the carburetor... its the joins that cause the problems...
