new rat project

My latest member of the family.
I'm looking to try and get in on the road as soon as I can, as a rat looker, with beefy engine and some handling mods. does anyone know how much (or how little rust) you can have to get a roadworthy in victoria?

I think with the rust as long as its not structural you should be ok ?

Cheers Doc

Looks good Tim.. I think I know what is brewing for the heart of this thing.. ;)

Tim, I tend to agree with *did*, and say surface rust is okay, but not structural or holes..

Yes, thats about what I thought. I may have a couple of holes to fix here and there, but want to leave what I can as is. (most of whats immediately apparent that is)
I have a 2275 that'll go in it, along with some sway bars I bought off here a little while back. Its already on an irs pan.
Some good tyres and a review of the brakes.

Inside I was thinking minimal as well, (its about as minimal as you can get now - no linings, no seats, no headliner...
I was thinking only putting on some door cards and front seats (some kind of race bucket). Maybe a roll bar.

Anyone know whos good in the Melb/Geelong area for roll bars?

Also do I have to put a rear seat in to be legal? I was thinking of just going bare bones.

I'm going to have fun with this one.:thumb

Nice one!

I think if you leave out the rear seat then it will be registered as a two seater, the only implications being that you can only legally carry two passengers :)

I hope to register my rat bug in the near future too.

Don't think so.. If so, use nerf bars...
