ok I am looking to have my beetle painted from white to black, she has some rust (some that will need new metle) and only a few bruises (dents).
ok now ive worked out the following from the forums
1. needs panel beating (few bruises here and there)
2. needs rust removed and new metle put in places eg. bottom of doors
3. sandblasting? or other type of paint get ridofness? (is real word)
4. Painter people do painting thingo
5. car looks sexy with colour somewhat like:
ok heres my question, what else needs doing and how much is it going to cost me most likely or around aboutsness? - If anyone has done something
simular id love to know.. AND how can I minimize cost remembering that I have no idea on how to do anything and everything I know on bugs has come
from an idiots guide (im an idiot) and these here forums...

1: Decide on a budget...then triple it!
2: Strip the car ie: fenders, doors, glass, seals
3: Strip the car either by bead blasting, paint stripper, or with a D.A
4: Etch Prime
4: Replace rusty sheet metal. etch prime> bodyfiller
5: Hi build primer> lots of rubbing> Primer> more wet rubbing
6: *Paint color>clearcoat( this depends on what type of paint base, metallic, pearl, kandy etc)
There are lots of little stages in between that you need to do like masking, wax & grease remover, tack raging etc. replacing seals etc
u2u me your email address and I'll send you a copy of the process that House of Kolor used on Ben Gatt's kandy sled...
