Swing-axle Kombi box into beetle?

I've read all about swapping IRS bus transaxles, but no matter how much I search I cant find anything about swapping a kombi swing-axle box into a beetle?
Is it possible? Is it worthwhile for the extra strength and lower gear ratios?

you could turn the reduction boxes around 90 degrees with an adapter plate for std ride hieght

Did kombi swing-axles never come without redux hubs???
Could you just take off the the kombi axles/redux hubs and run beetle axles on the kombi box??

I do want the extra ride hight, Im making an off road sedan, but no one makes redux hub adapters anymore and apparently they drive like shit anyway.

as per my limited knowledge. if you take the reduction hubs off a asplitty box, you need to reverse the pinion i htink. other wise you get four revesre and one forward gear. i dont htink htere is a difference, or much, between the boxes other than the reduction hubs. these do make for good height in off roaders apparently.

kombi went irs in 68 when the bay window was introduced

as far as I know the beetle and kombi boxes are the same

I bought a splitty reduction gearbox from silver in sydney and he said that the origibal one had karcked it and his mechanic just put a beetle gbox in there after flipping the ring and pinion

the kombi gbox's have a higher 4th gear though of 0.82 whereas I think beetle have 0.89
