the first one is a split I think.... the other two look like bay window models with the early body... all the front doors are the same.....they are all swing axle models.... They were all made in Brasillia ... they all have brown seats? they all have black tyres?
What do I win???

The first one May be a split window with late headlamps....
the rear bodies definately look the same vintage but with different front panels.
Have I won anything Yet??? :thumb:thumb:bounce:bounce

Buses
They are all south american (brazilian) buses. The left one is a normal splitty by the looks of it, the middle one is one of those Frankenstein bay
window buses with a deluxe type split rear end and five stud drums. The last one looks like a Bay panel van, but I'm not sure that it should have
the engine slits down in the quarter panel like an early (non aussie) split. It probably runs wide 5 wheels and has a Type 1 motor.
What do I win!

i'm no bus guru BUT...
they first on seems to have a newer front end with an oldschool body...
the seconds one seems to have a newer front end (including the front doors) with the ass of an old school 21 (21?) window...
and same with the thrid...
but as i said that's from my limited knowledge on buses.
but i LOVE the look of the middle one... i'd trade all three bugs for that baby...

Well the cargo doors are on the right side as these would be LHD cars.
I think all of them (including the 1st one) have bay window roofs as split roofs are higher.
I figure the brazilians didnt get the die for making late bay panels till later on in the piece. Maybe when they got too worn for the rest of the
world they ship dies down there.
I think they are splittie kombis with bay window fronts and roofs. and looks like tailiights too as someone else has already said.
They made watercooled bays down there too. I think there are photos on http://www.clubvw.org.au somwhere.

The Braisilia story with pics.

Now If I could get one of these water cooled bays, put a type 4 in it and use the radiator just for intercooler water....

How close did you get?
This was the answer posted by the winner of this trivia pic.
The web site is at - http://www.hvwc.net/zeitung/
Winner:
Gilbert
Correct Answer:
* The white bus has bay window (late model) headlight assemblies. [actually I can't prove this, but I'll take his word. Big Al]
* The second one is a Brazilian bus. Notice the bay window front clip and doors but with a splittie body and rear end.
* The third bus is also a hybrid Brazilian bus. Bay window front end but with an early style panel van body.
* The two beige vans also most likely have late bay window taillights. (i.e. the tall ones)
* There's also a red Brasilia wagon at the end of the line-up. Not that it matters much. )
[This last answer is what put Gilbert over the top. Only the most pure VW Enthusiast would even KNOW of the Brazillia! Big Al]
Got any others to share?
